Co-founded by a former college president, an academic dean, and a vice president of enrollment and student services, Higher Ed Support was created to help small non-profit colleges and universities succeed in the highly competitive world of online education. The co-founders of Higher Ed Support can boast over 65 years of combined experience in US higher education and have helped thousands of students achieve their dream of obtaining a college degree.


Jim Dunn, MA

Co-founder, President & CEO

Mr. Dunn has over 20 years experience as an enrollment and operations consultant, Vice President of Enrollment, Vice President of Student Services and Director of Admissions. In addition to having worked with dozens of non-profit colleges and universities over the years, Mr. Dunn has worked as either a Vice President or Director for some of the largest and most successful online and adult education institutions in the country, including the University of Phoenix, Kaplan Higher Education and The Learning House. He is also author of the book Online Enrollment Management: Using For Profit Best Practices at Non Profit Colleges.

Mr. Dunn is a proud member of NAFSA: Association of International Educators, the American Counseling Association (ACA), and the American College Counseling Association (ACCA) and holds a Master of Arts in Education in Curriculum and Instruction. 


William B. Drake, D.Min

Co-founder

During his 10-year term as President of Midway College, Dr. Drake expanded the campus size from 100 to 200 acres and built over 160,000 square feet of laboratories, classrooms and offices while adding no long-term debt. Dr. Drake also served as the Managing Partner for Drake, Marcum and Associates, LLC. He is a Member of the Registry of College and University Presidents and served as a Trustee for the Commission on Colleges, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (2009-2012).


Judy W. Marcum, MBE

Co-founder

During her eight-year term as Dean of Online Education at Midway College, Ms. Marcum tripled the enrollment due in large measure to the online initiative. This growth occurred by adding 350 online courses and 22 degree programs. Ms. Marcum previously served as a Managing Partner for Drake, Marcum and Associates, LLC.
